Hi, I’m Holly Cairns as TD for Cork South West. I am a farmer and the Social Democrats spokesperson for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine; Disability Matters; Rural and Community Development; and Father and Higher Education. I was elected in February 2020 after serving on Cork County Council, for the Bantry Local Election, since May 2019. On the Council, I took positive action on transparency, holding the executive to account and spotlighting local environmental issues. My “Inside the Chamber” podcast keeps constituents up to date with what does (and doesn’t) work in local government.
I have a first class honours MSc in Organic Horticulture from UCC. My background as a farmer and environmentalist inspired me to stand for election.
